The Message I see my voice as a gift, and every once in a while, I randomly call up my friends and family and leave a song on their voice mail. One day I made up a song for this girl’s voice mail. After I left the message I couldn’t get it out my head. I never wrote anything else to it, but I just loved how it sounded. So, I recorded it and called it the Message. It’s a simple message of love.
Did I Tell You A lot of guys get in trouble with their girl cause we just don’t communicate how we really feel. This song gets it all out in one take. The bottom line is, if I never told you how much you meant to me, and all that I would do for you, then I must have been out of my mind. “Baby you inspire me to be the best man I can be.”
Meant To Be This is not just my theme song for love but also for life. Don't
stress or worry about things you have no control over. Just enjoy
everymoment you share with the people in your life. Anything that was
MEANT to be will happen.
Angel Angel was written about, Evelyn Lee-Jones; a woman who came into my life and proved to me what it means to love somebody. She loved me unconditionally, in complete vulnerability, and never asked for a thing in return. Over the years the song has evolved to honor other Angels in our lives: Friends, Family and even Strangers who do the unexpected and give of themselves the most special gift of love. These Angels are heaven sent.
Love Notes Actually the title came first. I was trying to find a title for the
album and when I heard love notes, it stuck with tme. Love notes
became a very sexy poetic metaphore for "making love," (on "my grand
piano.") I decided not to use the raunchy and vulgar language that we
often hear on the radio these days and create a piece that had the
class of a Duke Ellington or Nate "King" Cole.
Dance With Me I had a party in mind. I could see the dimes stepping up to the dance floor and all the dudes taking a good look at all the flavor in the room. I knew the beat had to be solid and the groove had to be sexy. I knew the lyrics had to drive you wild so anytime the song hits every body is dancing.
