Jeremiah Jamez was born, James G. Connor, in Long Beach, California. This talented artist/songwriter, instrumentalist and producer began his growth as an artist in the city of Seattle following behind famous musicians including Jimi Hendrix, Ray Charles and the most famous grunge bands of the 90's Nirvana and Pearl Jam. Jamez shares the qualities of smooth soul crooners like Marvin Gaye and Sam Cook who also had their roots in the Church. From the pulpit he was taught, “Your gifts will make room for you”. He has traveled all over the country as well as internationally including two years of performing at Universal Studios in Osaka, Japan, performing with the "Total Experience Gospel Choir" at the Sidney Opera House in Australia and in Russia for an international music festival. Some raise an eyebrow to learn that Jamez was brought up in the Catholic tradition when they experience his energetic performance and soulful riffs. However, at the age of 7 Jamez began to study and master the piano and latter moved on to study various other instruments including the cello, French horn, trumpet and trombone. With a desire to continue his education, Jamez followed in the footsteps of the legend Quincy Jones, when he left Seattle in 1995 to enroll at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. In 2000 he graduated with a Bachelor’s in music education. A few years later, he moved to Los Angeles in hopes of pursuing his musical dreams. There he completed his fourth year of teaching elementary music when the desire to perform and produce became increasingly tempting and forced Jamez to leave the class room and head back to the stage. In December 2003, Jamez was hired to sing background on tour with R&B singers Kenny Lattimore and Chante Moore with their duet cd, “Things that Lover’s Do”. In 2006, he performed on an episode of the Tom Joyner Show. In March 2007, Jamez recorded his first EP entitled “Love Notes” with Loren Weisman of Protectomatic Music and is now convinced that releasing this new project in 2010 is destined to be his greatest work yet including songs that tell the story of a man who lost everything and yet found his strength right where he started with Christ!
